The War Department is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization based in the state of
Washington. Our primary focus is the production of historically accurate 20th century
military simulations. The purpose of our events it to help participants live the experience
of a combat soldier in a historical setting.

The War Department places great emphasis on historically correct uniforms, tactics and
equipment but seeks to provide an environment that is welcoming to both experienced
and beginning military history enthusiasts.

The War Departments simulations are primarily based on real operations from the
Second World War and the American war in Vietnam. Through the recreation of the
soldiers experience during these conflicts we seek a deeper understanding of conflict
throughout history and how these conflicts have shaped the world we live in.

The War Department utilizes blank fire weapons, airsoft guns, historical vehicles, horses
and pyrotechnics (whenever possible) to provide the most historically accurate and
realistic events possible.
